What is Comprehensive Plus car insurance?
This covers you if your car is stolen, accidentally damaged or damaged by fire. You're also covered for claims made against you by other people for damage to their property or for bodily injury. Comprehensive Plus offers some higher cover limits than Comprehensive, plus some extras included as standard.
Our Comprehensive Plus cover at a glance
|Guaranteed Hire Car Plus||
If your car’s being fixed by one of our approved repairers, we’ll give you a similar sized car to drive until yours is ready for the road. If you prefer to use your own repairer, or your car has been written off or stolen, you’ll still get a hire car for up to 21 days in a row. Excludes windscreen claims and customer delayed claims.
|Uninsured Driver Promise||
If you’re in an accident with an uninsured driver that isn’t your fault, we’ll protect your claims-free years and also cover your excess. Make sure you get the registration number, make and model of the other vehicle, and the other driver’s details (if possible) to make a claim.
|Personal accident cover||
We’ll insure you and your spouse or partner up to £5,000 should either of you be injured or killed in a car accident.
|Motor Legal Cover||
If you need to make a claim for repairs, loss of earnings or personal injury following an accident that isn’t your fault, we’ll cover your legal costs up to £100,000 providing there’s more than 50% chance your claim will be successful.
If you make a claim for damage to your car caused by vandalism, you won't lose your No Claim Discount. The incident must be reported to the police and assigned a crime reference number. The excess must also be paid when making the claim. The damage can’t have been caused by another vehicle.
|Replacement child car seats||
If your car’s in an accident, we’ll replace your child car seats, even if there's no apparent damage. We’ll need proof of ownership for child car seats worth over £250.
|Automatic Foreign Use||
If you’re driving your car overseas, you’ll automatically be covered with comprehensive insurance for up to 90 days abroad.
|New car cover||
If your car’s less than two years old and you’re its first and only registered owner, we’ll replace it with the same make and model if it’s written off or can’t be recovered after being stolen.
|24/7 emergency helpline||
If you've been in an accident and need help, our emergency helpline is always available to you.
|Repairs guaranteed for 5 years||
We’ll guarantee work by our approved repairers for five years, unless you sell your car.
|Cover for personal belongings in the car||
We’ll pay for personal belongings lost or damaged by fire, theft, attempted theft or an accident while inside your car. Limits apply, so be sure to check the policy booklet.

Third Party, Fire & Theft
This covers you if your car is damaged by fire or stolen, and if other people claim against you for injury or damage to their car or property.
If you have a minimum of 4 years no claim discount, with no more than one fault claim within the past three years for all drivers combined, then you will be eligible to purchase No Claim Discount Protection.
Having No Claim Discount Protection means that your No Claim Discount (NCD) will not be affected by:
- One claim made during the current period of cover, or by
- Two claims arising in the three preceding years of insurance
You will cease to be eligible for the benefit if claims exceed the above number. However your premium may still increase following a claim.

We'll keep you moving with a similar physical sized hire car to your own, plus:
- Choose one of our approved repairers and you can keep it until your car is fixed.
- You'll still get a hire car for up to 21 days in a row if yours is written off, stolen or you prefer to use your own garage.
- We'll also cover the travel costs if your car is stolen or you have an accident abroad - up to £50 a day and up to a maximum of £500 over the 21 days following your claim, if you have extended your cover to that country.
