With Direct Line's multi-car discount, we help you save money when you and your family have more than one car in the household.
Get a discount for every additional car you bring to us up to a maximum of 10 vehicles. Subject to a minimum premium. Introductory discount.
If other drivers in your household make a claim, your no claim discount won't be affected.
We insure each car on a separate policy. So you can keep separate renewal dates and you won't need to worry about the cost of policies all renewing at the same time. Also, if other drivers in your household make a claim for their car, your no claim discount won't be affected.
Drivers with a full
licence can get an
upfront discount in
their first year.
Safe drivers are rewarded at renewal.
By taking out a DrivePlus policy, drivers under 26 with a full licence can get an upfront discount and the opportunity to save at renewal. DrivePlus is for cars built in 1996 or later.

Named Driver Discount
Drivers named on your policy that remain claim free may be eligible for a discount when they take out a policy in their own name with us. If your policy ends with us, the named driver can still use their Named Driver Discount as long as they get a quote from us within 90 days.
If a claim is made on the policy where a named driver is at fault this will reduce their Named Driver Discount. If there is more than one named driver on the policy the Named Driver Discount belonging to any other named drivers will not be affected. If the policyholder makes a claim on the policy this will not affect any of the named drivers' Named Driver Discount. Please note that all claims made on the policy may affect the policyholder's No Claim Discount regardless of whether or not it is the fault of the policyholder or a named driver. Named Driver Discount is not the same as earnt No Claim Discount and therefore may not be recognised by other insurers.
No Claim Discount
If you're aged 25 and over and have driven a company car, you'll be able to save money when you take out an insurance policy for your own car.
What we'll need from you:
- A letter from your company on headed paper that confirms you gave up a company car in the last 2 years.
- Confirmation of who the insurer, broker or employer was and if you were the only driver.
- Proof that the company car was not a pool car if you used it for Social, Domestic and Pleasure (SDP) purposes as well as for business by sharing it with your spouse, partner or civil partner.
- We'll also end up-to-date proof of claim-free driving, equal to the discount requested. You could get up to five years no claim discount.
