We appreciate the NHS staff going out to work each day to help keep us safe. That’s why we’re giving extra cover and support to Direct Line customers who are NHS employees.

  • If you work for the NHS and have Buildings Insurance with us, you now get free Home Emergency cover – this covers you against everything from a burst pipe to a broken boiler.
  • NHS workers who have our Contents Cover now get free Personal Possessions Cover on the way to, and from, work – up to £1,000 for mobiles, tablets and laptops.
  • We're making changes to our processes, so our colleagues can quickly identify NHS workers and make claims as easy as possible.
  • And we’re prioritising motor repairs for non-driveable vehicles used by NHS workers.

If you work for the NHS and you're a Direct Line customer, you get all this extra cover automatically until 30th June 2020.

Free Green Flag breakdown assistance for NHS workers

Our friends at Green Flag are offering all NHS staff free Green Flag breakdown assistance for their journeys to and from work.

Green Flag has already helped more than 300 NHS staff who have broken down, so if you need assistance with a breakdown, call Green Flag’s dedicated NHS number: 0800 051 0009

They’ll just need your NHS identification number when you call them and your NHS ID card to show the technician.
