There are thousands of beautiful beaches around the world. Here is a choice of beaches that may impress you.

Arambol Beach (Goa, India)
The warm waves of the Arabian Sea lap on endless beaches along Goa’s coastline. Towards the south, beaches can get overrun with tourists and travellers, but Arambol in the North offers unspoilt seclusion – ideal for getting away from it all and enjoying some of the most spectacular sunsets in the world.

Dahab, (Egypt)
Perched between the Red Sea and the Sinai mountains, Dahab’s crescent bay with it’s relaxed strip of bohemian cafes is the perfect place to try everything from snorkelling and diving (from the famous Blue Hole) to waterskiing and kite-surfing.

Costa da Caparica (Portugal)
Thirty minutes drive from Lisbon Airport you’ll find one of Portugal’s best-kept secrets – a 30km stretch of wide, sun-bleached beaches. At one end, you’ll find the town of Costa da Caparica, which has the restaurants, hotels, and bars that you’d expect from a modern holiday resort, but set off towards the south and discover sand dunes, wild forests and fossil cliffs.

Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach (North Carolina, USA)
This is a remote beach – get there by boat or private plane. Simply a village with accommodation and one of the most tranquil coastal spots in the US. No golf, no spa, just miles of unspoilt coast to yourself.

Porthcurno Beach (Cornwall, England)
This south-facing cove acts as a sun-trap and the turquoise waters will have you checking your GPS to confirm you are, indeed, in England. Walkers will enjoy the footpath which leads from the famous Logan Rock to Lands End and you can end the day watching a play at the Minack Theatre a Roman-style amphitheatre built into the cliffs in the 1930s.
