If you’re planning to travel a lot in the next 12 months, either in the UK or abroad, you should consider taking out a Direct Line annual travel insurance policy. Designed specially for people who go on numerous trips throughout the year, our annual travel insurance covers you from the moment you leave your home to start your journey to the time you return, as long as both start and end dates are within the period of your insurance cover. The individual trip limit is 42 days with a 120 days cover overseas in any one policy year.
During your trip you’ll be covered for up to £1,500 per person for personal possessions, subject to a single item limit of £250 and a total valuables limit of £250; personal money up to £500 per person, up to a cash limit of £250; up to £5 million in medical and emergency expenses abroad; up to £2 million per policy in personal liability, and up to £25,000 per person in personal accident cover and legal expenses.
If your trip is cancelled or cut short, you can claim up to £5,000 per person, up to a limit on pre-paid excursions of £150. You can also claim up to £200 if your departure is delayed – £20 for the first 12 hours and £10 for each subsequent 12 hours – plus up to £600 in additional accommodation or transportation costs.
Direct Line’s annual travel insurance has the option for an additional premium to cover you for winter sports equipment, ski pass and fees (up to £20 per day), piste closure (£20 per day) and even up to £100 for replacement of essential items.
With our Good Deal Better, we cover watches and sunglasses as standard, we offer new for old cover (excluding clothing and up to a limit of £250) and we’ll even let you try out activities such as bungee jumping, boat-towed parascending or scuba diving up to 18 meters on a one-off basis.
