Pet insurance - Tips & Advice - Understanding pet insurance
While gardening the other day I overheard a conversation between my neighbours, it went like this…
Cat lover (CL): Your dog kept me up last night barking, I don’t know how you can stand it... I much prefer cats.
Dog lover (DL): Sorry about that, some cats were playing in the garden, and it just wound him up. If I had a cat I’d always be worrying where it was.
CL: That’s the wonderful thing about cats – they’re so independent. If I'm late at work I don’t have to worry about Lily.
DL: But with Max, knowing he’s depending on me gives me a sense of responsibility. He’s always there and so pleased when I arrive home for his evening walk.
CL: All that walking, being out in all weathers. There’s nothing more comforting than Lily curled up on my lap on a stormy night.
DL: I love walking Max and the rain and cold doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I get regular exercise and don’t get too lazy.
CL: You have to clean up after him too. Yuk! Dogs go to the toilet anywhere but cats are always discreet and clean.
DL: So the stories of them going in the corner of the room when they’re upset aren’t true then?
CL: Lily has never done anything like that! She was litter-trained as a kitten and that’s the only training you need do with a cat.
DL: Training Max was a delight – we really bonded. A dog really is a man’s best friend and nothing beats that!
So there we are, the pros and cons to owning either pet, but they both certainly bring a lot of joy to their owners. The choice is yours.
