Stocks & Shares ISA

We have a choice of two funds you can invest in, the Direct Line FT-SE 100 Tracker Fund or the Direct Line FT-SE4Good Tracker Fund. Unless you choose otherwise the Direct Line FTSE 100 Tracker Fund will be the default Fund.

The objective of the Direct Line FT-SE 100 Tracker Fund is to achieve long term capital growth by tracking as closely as possible the performance of the FT-SE 100 Index. The FT-SE 100 Index is made up of the largest 100 UK listed companies by market capitalisation.

The objective of the Direct Line FTSE4Good Tracker Fund is also to achieve long term capital growth by tracking as closely as possible the performance of the FTSE4Good Index. The FTSE4Good Index is an index for socially responsible investment, the selection criteria for the index cover 3 areas:

  • Working towards environmental sustainability
  • Developing positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Upholding and supporting universal human rights
More information on the selection criteria and the constituents of the FTSE4Good Index is available on the internet at www.ftse4good.com

The Choice of Mini and Maxi Stocks and Shares ISA
  • Like all Stocks and Shares Mini ISAs, ours has an upper limit of £3,000 and leaves you the freedom to choose a different provider for your cash and life insurance Mini ISA.
send me info
  • To invest more than £3,000 in a Direct Line Stocks & Shares ISA you must opt for our Maxi ISA. This allows you to invest all of your annual ISA allowance in the funds (up to £7,000 each tax year until 2005/06 and £5,000 each year thereafter). But you will not then be able to invest in cash or life insurance ISAs during the same tax year.

Total Flexibility
Both Direct Line Stocks & Shares ISAs will give you all the flexibility you should demand from any long-term investment. You can invest with a lump sum, regular payments or with a combination of the two if you would prefer.

If you want to invest a lump sum, your first investment must be at least £500. But after that you can top it up with amounts of only £200.

On the other hand you can make regular payments with as little as £30 a month. And you can increase your payments or supplement them with lump sums any time you like.

Low Changes - So more of your money is invested
We like to be completely up front with all our charges, so here it is. 1% annual management charge - that’s it.

And that’s just one of the ways in which we comply with the Government’s set of CAT Standards to keep savings products simple, clear and fair.

It takes 10 minutes to invest
There are no forms to fill in - we’ll do that for you over the phone. Just tell us which ISA you’ve chosen, which fund you wish to invest in and how much you want to invest. We’ll then send the forms for you to check, sign and return to us.

What are the current share prices of the two funds?
